TrainsRunner input data
The TrainsRunner simulator allows modeling a complex railway network, composed of a set of interconnected lines. Each line consists of one or more track, each characterized by the following data:
- vertical alignment profile (slopes),
- horizontal alignment profile (curves),
- tunnels,
- speed limits (for one or both direction),
- stops name and position (for one or both direction),
- traffic lights and traffic light control box.
The train model is characterized by the following data:
- Length,
- Tare, payload, Rotating masses percentage,
- Maximum speed, Maximum acceleration and deceleration,
- Motion resistance coefficient: constant, linear, quadratic (outdoors and in tunnel),
- Curve resistance coefficient,
- Braking type: dissipative or regenerative,
- Traction effort, Total barking effort and electrical braking effort curves vs. speed,
- Traction and Braking Efficiency curves vs. speed,
- Minimum and maximum pantograph voltage, Rated pantograph voltage,
- Average power of auxiliary loads,
- Curves of maximum absorbed current and maximum regenerated current vs. pantograph voltage,
- The curve of power factor vs. speed (AC train only),
- Distribution of masses on the length of the train.
The DC power supply system model is defined by:
- tracks sections, each characterized by the resistance of positive and negative circuit and by the conductance to earth.
- a set of electrical substations, characterized by:
-
- the rectifier (AC/DC converter) characteristic,
- an arbitrary number of feeders,
- Internal nodes and circuit breakers.
- the following additional components:
-
- Network nodes
- Network breakers
- Parallel cables
- Electrical branches
- Junction between lines
- Line Isolators
The AC power supply system model allows to describe standard AC systems: 1x15 kV at 16.7 Hz, 1x25 kV at 50Hz or 60 Hz, 2x25 kV at 50 Hz or 60 Hz, composed by:
- track sections modeled with an impedance matrix composed of any number of conductors,
- a set of technological site characterized by:
-
- Transformers
- Auto-transformers
- Breakers
- Feeders
- Ground Mesh
- Electrical nodes
- Electrical branches
The train operation data are defined by:
- The train route, defined as a sequence of line sections:
-
- for each route section, it’s possible to define the driving style: all out mode or coasting,
- for each train route, it’s possible to define the starting speed, the headway and the synchronization.
- The schedule of each train, characterized by:
-
- the route,
- the set of dwell times at stations or the arrival and departure time with the minimum dwell time,
- the inversion time at terminus,
